Import Data

InfoFlow makes it easy to import your existing content from various read-it-later and knowledge management services. This guide walks you through importing your data from different platforms to InfoFlow.

Accessing Import Settings

  1. Open InfoFlow application
  2. Click on Settings (gear icon) in the sidebar
  3. Select "Data Import" from the settings menu

Available Import Sources

Import from Readwise

To get your Readwise API key:

  1. Go to readwise.io/access_token and sign in to your account
  2. Copy your access token
  3. Paste it in the field above
  4. Click "Connect to Readwise"

Import from Pocket

Requires an InfoFlow Cloud account.

To import your data from Pocket:

  1. In the InfoFlow app, go to Settings > Data Import.
  2. Select "Pocket" as the import source.
  3. You will find a link to the InfoFlow Pocket integration page: http://www.infoflow.app/en/user_portal/settings/integrations/pocket
  4. Follow the instructions on the integration page to connect your Pocket account and authorize InfoFlow to access your data.
  5. Once authorized, InfoFlow will begin importing your Pocket articles, tags, and highlights.

The import will include your saved articles, tags, and any highlights/notes you've made.

Import from Instapaper

To export your data from Instapaper:

  1. Go to instapaper.com/user and sign in to your account
  2. Scroll down to "Export" section and click "Download CSV"
  3. Wait for the CSV file to be generated and download it
  4. Select that CSV file here to import

The import will include your saved articles, tags, and folders. Note: Instapaper does not support exporting your highlights/selections.

Import from Twilar

To import your Twilar data:

  1. Open the Twilar app on your device
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Navigate to Data → Data Export
  4. Tap "InfoFlow"

Import from Omnivore

To import from Omnivore:

  1. Select a folder (Optional)
  2. Select a tag (Optional)
  3. Upload your Omnivore export file (.zip)

Tips for Successful Imports

  • Ensure you're signed in to the source service before starting the import
  • Keep the InfoFlow app open during the import process
  • For large libraries, imports may take several minutes
  • All imported content maintains its original metadata, including:
    • Creation date
    • Tags/labels
    • Highlights
    • Notes
    • Categories

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during import:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify your authentication with the source service
  3. Try again in a few minutes
  4. Contact support if issues persist

Your imported content will be available in your InfoFlow library immediately after the import completes, organized according to its original structure and ready for you to read, annotate, and organize.
